Although the evidence behind harm reduction is growing, harm reduction efforts are under-resourced and need additional funding to stem the escalation of overdose deaths plaguing the United States. This interactive toolkit, jointly produced by the National Harm Reduction Coalition, Vital Strategies, In The Works, and Anka Consulting, was developed with the input of harm reduction leaders across the country to help programs identify sustainable funding opportunities.

The content outlines steps for funding harm reduction programs, including basics of health care financing, organizational readiness, billable services, and other considerations. It also includes a 90-minute e-course on how the health care financing system works and how harm reduction programs can tap into opportunities for funding as well as one-pagers describing key terms and financing concepts and a practical workbook of assessment tools.
